Muhammad
Ali Glove |
| $2,895 |
Imagine
owning a fire engine red Everlast boxing glove autographed by
the Greatest of All Time. Ali
was the first boxer to win the world heavyweight boxing championship
title three different times. After winning a gold medal as a light
heavyweight at the 1960 Olympic Games, he turned professional.
In 1964 he made good his claim of being The
Greatest; after only 20 professional fights he became world
heavyweight champion, a title he held off an on for almost 25
years. As an internationally loved sports icon, Ali's autograph
is one of the most sought after amongst avid collectors. But sadly,
because of his Parkinson's disease, Ali signs fewer items than
he did in past years, making his collectibles more and more difficult
to find. This glove is a true classic and looks sensational displayed
in one of our handsome boxing
glove cases. Without a doubt, one of our coolest collectibles.

This
photograph is one of the most famous images in the storied career
of Muhammad Ali. It was 1964 and two worlds collided when The
Beatles paid a visit to Ali's (then Cassius Clay) camp in Miami
during his training for the first Ali-Liston fight. As the media
looked on, Ali performed like the consummate entertainer he was,
and gained millions of new fans. It may not have been his greatest
knockout, but it was certainly his only quadrouple-knockout! This
handsomely framed and matted, vintage 8x10 photograph shows Ali
sparing with John, Paul, George and Ringo and includes a descriptive
plaque giving the "circa 1964" date. Hand-signed by
Ali, this is a classic collectible that appeals to both sports
and music enthusiasts alike and makes a wonderful conversation
piece.

Ali new!
Ali vs. The Beatles 16x20 |
| $1,995 |
To
this day, Muhammad Ali remains a hero to millions around the world.
In 1985, he was called upon to negotiate for the release of kidnapped
Americans in Lebanon. In 1996, he had the honor of lighting the
Olympic flame in Atlanta, Georgia. The $60 million Muhammad
Ali Center opened in downtown Louisville, Kentucky on November
19, 2005. In addition to displaying his boxing memorabilia, the
center focuses on core themes of peace, social responsibility,
respect, and personal growth. And fittingly, Ali received the
Presidential Medal of Freedom on November 9, 2005. A true sports
legend this great photograph captures Ali in a 1964 encounter
with The Beatles. Ali made the most of the moment, hamming it
up for the crowd and leaving us with some wonderful photographs
of this meeting between two pop culture icons. This vintage 16x20
photograph is hand-signed by Ali and Sports Gallery Quality

Ali
"The Greatest vs. The King"
8x10 (signed & unsigned) |
|
Muhammad
Ali and Elvis Presley had a special friendship based on a strong
mutual admiration. In fact, a famous Ali quote makes reference
to Elvis:
People
don't realize what they had till it's gone.
Like President Kennedy - nobody like him.
Like The Beatles,
there will never be anything like them.
Like my man, Elvis Presley -
I was the Elvis of boxing.
In February of 1973, Ali and Elvis met in Las Vegas. During
the visit, Elvis gave Ali a robe emblazoned with the words "The
People's Champion." In turn, Ali gave Elvis boxing
gloves inscribed"You're the
Greatest" on the right glove. And, of course, they
posed for photographs. This is one of the more famous of these
photos, showing "The King Sparring
With The Greatest." We offer signed and unsigned
versions of this famous photograph, both Sports Gallery Quality
Framed. A timeless collectible from two entertainment
icons that will be passed down generation to generation in your
family.

Ali
Underwater Training
11x14 (signed) and 8x10 Display (unsigned) |
|
Muhammad
Ali might well be the most-photographed person of all time (he
has been on 35 Sports Illustrated covers alone!). Among the
best photographs ever taken of him are a series of underwater
shots in a swimming pool from 1961. The enterprising young fighter
told Life photographer Flip
Schulke that he trained for fights by running and punching in
the pool. Only one problem: It was all a big, fat fib. Ali never
trained underwater - at that point he couldn't even swim. However,
what he lacked in aquatic skill he made up for in media savvy,
and he was desperate to get into the hugely popular Life,
knowing it would give him worldwide exposure. Ali and his trainer
Angelo Dundee cooked up the idea of the fighter training underwater
and the editors of Life fell
for it. But while the story was a lie the photos are very real.
Life featured two pages of photographs documenting Ali's supposed
underwater regime. In the photos, the young fighter ducked and
feinted, the bubbles in the swimming pool following the arc
of his arm. This remarkable photograph from that shoot is available
both as a signed 11x14 and as an unsigned 8x10 Sports
Gallery Exclusive display that includes a commemorative
plaque highlighting Ali's accomplishments as a boxer. A unique
collectible from one of the most-unique athletes...and personalities...of
our time.

Muhammad
Ali new!
A Legend In Training 16x20 |
| $1,995 |
In
all of boxing history, Muhammad Ali stands alone. In early boasts,
he called himself "The Greatest," and by the time his
storied career came to an end, most fight fans agreed. Ali had
also become the best-known athlete in the world and, very possibly,
the best loved as well. The colorful and controversial Ali (formerly
Cassius Clay) began taking boxing lessons when he was twelve years
old at the urging of a Louisville policeman he talked to after
his bike was stolen. As a high school student, he won the national
Golden Gloves middleweight championship in 1959 and 1960 and the
AAU national light heavyweight title in 1960, then went on to
a gold medal in the light heavyweight division in 1960 Olympics.
From the very beginning, Ali trained with the focus and single-mindedness
of a future champion. This vintage b&w photograph of Ali working
out with the punching bag captures that intensity perfectly. Hand-signed
"Muhammad Ali" by Ali this 16x20 photograph is Sports
Gallery Quality
Framed in thick mahogany, UV-protective glass (very
important for signature protection!) and classic double-matting.
A unique collectible from a truly unique athlete and individual,
this timeless piece of Sports Art would make a great gift for
any sports fan. If you're looking for a unique Ali collectible
this is it.

The
1996 Olympics in Atlanta provided one of the most memorable moments
in Olympic history as the organizers selected Ali, one of the
most recognized athletes of all time, to open the Olympics. The
image of Ali lighting the cauldron won't ever be forgotten. Ravaged
by the effects of Parkinson's disease, no one even remotely entertained
the notion the legendary boxer, a gold-medal winner at the 1960
Olympics, would emerge out of the darkness and spark the flame.
But there he was, grabbing the hand-off of the torch, high atop
Olympic Stadium, and setting an incredible tone and message for
the 1996 Atlanta Games. There isn't much argument about this being
the most memorable flame-lighting of all time. Afterwards, President
Clinton clasped hands with Ali and exclaimed "He was great,
wasn't he?" Yes he was. Remember this unforgettable moment
with this beautiful mahogany-framed 16x20 photograph of the torch
lighting, hand-signed by Ali. A really nice...and rare...piece!

Yelling At Frazier 16x20 |

Muhammad
Ali was a Golden Gloves champion at age 17, an Olympic gold medalist
at age 18 and the undefeated heavyweight champion at age 22!
During the 1970's, boxing enjoyed one of it's greatest era's
in it's Heavy Weight Division. Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier helped
define this great era in boxing with 3 of the greatest fights
of all time. The Ali/Frazier rivalry was recently rated as the
#2 rivalry in sports history (behind only Michigan vs. Ohio State
in football). Most boxing historians believe this 16x20 photograph
was taken during the weigh-in before the first Ali/Frazier fight.
As the doctor looks on, Ali taunts a nearby Frazier. Classic Ali!

Web
Special! $199 |
Known
as "Smokin' Joe" because of his style of constantly
boring in and throwing punches, Frazier didn't have a great knockout
punch, but he wore opponents down with his relentless attack.
He won 32 professional fights, 27 by knockout; lost 4, 3 by knockout;
and fought 1 draw. Frazier was the 1964 Olympic heavyweight champion
and the World Hevyweight Champion from 1970 to 1973. Joe was most
famous however for his three epic bouts with Muhammad Ali. In
1971 Frazier and Ali, both undefeated as professionals, met in
one of the most ballyhooed matches in boxing history. That night
at Madison Square Garden Frazier knocked Ali down with a left
hook in the 15th round and won a unanimous decision that made
hime the undisputed champion of the World. The third bout between
the two, The "Thrilla in Manila," is considered by many
boxing pundits to be the greatest fight ever. The only boxer to
really go toe to toe with Ali, this vintage 8x10 photograph of
"Smokin' Joe" is hand-signed by Frazier and tastefully
framed and matted. A great gift for any boxing fan.

| Did
you know?
In the suffocating heat in Quezon City, just outside the
Philippines capital of Manila, Joe Frazier and Muhammad
Ali dueled for 14 rounds in a 1975 bout Ali billed "The
Thrilla in Manila." Ali took the early rounds, before
Frazier found his rhythm in the middle frames and attacked
the champs body with both hands. But Ali turned the tide
for good in the 10th and won the next four rounds. By the
end of the 14th both fighters were exhausted, but Frazier's
eyes were nearly swollen shut, and his corner stopped the
bout. Later, Ali said, "It was the closest I've come
to death." |

Rocky
Marciano vs. Jersey Joe Walcott new!
Black & White/Unsigned 16x20
|
| $229
|
On
Sept. 23, 1952, Rocky Marciano, the only undefeated champion in
any weight class in the history of gloved-boxing (49-0!), climbed
into the ring to challenge then heavyweight champion, Jersey Joe
Walcott. What ensued was what many have called the greatest heavyweight
championship fight of all time. In the first round, Walcott caught
Marciano with a perfect left hook that dropped him for the first
time in 43 fights! But The Rock
was up at the count of 3, despite please from his corner to take
the 8 count. From then on it was a brutal fight, with Walcott
using all his ring skills, hitting Marciano with shot after shot
that would have knocked out most other fighters. But Rocky was
relentless, taking tremendous punishment as he bulled his way
into close range to land his own blows. By the 12th round, Walcott
was ahead on all scorecards, and Rocky's corner told him he needed
a knockout to win. In the fateful 13th round, Jersey Joe stepped
back from Marciano, his back to the ropes, and Rocky delivered
a devastating right hand punch. Walcott slumped to the floor,
one arm hanging on the lower rope, and was counted out (it took
several minutes to revive him). Rocky Marciano was the new Heavyweight
Champion of the World! Perhaps one of the most famous punches
in boxing history, it is captured in all its glory in this amazing
16x20 b&w photograph. Sports Gallery Quality
Framed in thick black wood and classic double-matting,
this is a terrific piece of Sports Art. A great gift for any boxing
