Oakland
Raider Stars and Raider Nation Favorites
Bruce Gradkowski & Michael Bush
Sign for SGA @ Ricky's!
|
| |
|
| On
November 5, Sports Gallery conducted another of
its unique "Mobile Signings," throwing
a rowdy autograph party with Raiders Stars QB
Bruce Gradkowski and RB Michael Bush at legendary
Ricky's in San Leandro, CA. |

|
| Bruce
Gradkowski is
a Pittsburgh, PA native that played his college
ball for the Toledo Rockets where he set a Mid-American
Conference season record by completing 71.2% of
his passes. On November 22, 2009, in his first
start for the Raiders, Gradkowski threw 2 touchdowns
(matching JaMarcus Russell's total for the season
to that point) and led the team to a 20-17 victory
over the Cincinnati Bengals. In week 13, the Raiders
won 27-24 on a huge upset against the Pittsburgh
Steelers with Gradkowski completed 20 of 33 passes
for 308 yards and 3 touchdowns, including an 11-yard
game winning touchdown to Louis Murphy. A new
favorite of the Raider Nation was born! Michael
Bush
was a highly sought after college recruit, turning
down offers from several more established programs
(including Ohio State) to stay at home and attend
the University of Louisville. Bush's breakout
season at Louisville came as a junior in 2005
when he rushed for 1143 yards on 205 carries,
averaging 5.6 yards per carry, racked up 23 rushing
touchdowns, and was second in NCAA Division 1-A
in scoring to LenDale White. Considered a leading
candidate for the 2006 Heisman Trophy, Michael
suffered a season-ending injury in his first game
that season and required two seasons of rehabilitation.
But the Raiders still wanted Michael, drafted
by the Oakland in the 2007 NFL Draft with the
first pick of the fourth round. After a two year
hiatus, Bush finally returned to the football
field in 2008. The high point thus far in his
professional career was in a week 17 game against
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, when Bush rushed for
177 yards on 27 carries and 2 touchdowns to help
Oakland deny Tampa a spot in the playoffs. Look
for big things from Michael in the Raiders backfield
in 2010. |
