Pro Bowl Defensive Back Signs@SGA!

Monday, January 16, 49ers Pro Bowl Defensive
Back Carlos Rogers made his first Bay Area signing
appearance at Sports Gallery Palo Alto. |

| Carlos
Rogers was a stud at Auburn University, where
he started 44 games over four years, finishing
his career with 182 tackles, seven interceptions,
and two fumble recoveries. Named to the Auburn
football All-Decade Team for the 2000s, Rodgers
helped lead Auburn to 13-0 undefeated season
during his Senior campaign. Rogers, who was
Auburn's first Jim Thorpe Award winner—given
annually to the best defensive back in the country—earned
consensus All-America honors and was one of
five finalists for the Bronco Nagurski Award
and a semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award
during his senior campaign. Carlos was drafted
by the Washington Redskins with the ninth overall
pick in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft
but moved to the Niners August 2, 2011 when
he signed a contract to play for SF. Good decision
Carlos! Rodgers is now part of the Niners amazing
defense that won the NFC West and is headed
deep into the post-season. Oh yeah...Carlos
was also named to his first Pro Bowl as an NFC
starting cornerback alongside Charles Woodson.
