Lance
Armstrong
7th Tour de France Victory 16x20 (unsigned) |
$199
Web
Special! $179 |
In
2005, cycling legend Lance Armstrong did the seemingly impossible
in winning his seventh straight Tour de France. An amazing
feat by any standard, Lance's accomplishments are made all the more
remarkable by the fact that just ten years previous, Lance
was given less than a 50 percent chance of overcoming testicular
cancer that had spread to his lungs and brain. A sports icon
and inspiration around the globe, Lance is an American hero in every
sense of the word. This terrific 16x20 unsigned photograph shows
Lance moments after his seventh victory taking his "victory
lap" through the streets of Paris. With his Team Discovery
biking shorts, the leader's yellow jersey, and the American Flag,
Lance never looked better. And, as his beaming smile shows, he never
felt better either. Elegantly framed and matted in all black, this
is the crowing moment in the career of one of the World's finest
athletes. A great gift for any sports fan!

Lance
Armstrong
Stormy Victory 16x20 and 8x10 (unsigned) |
| This
is another special moment from one of Lance's seven straight Tour
de France victories. This unique photograph of Lance was taken
during the 2003 Tour, when Lance powered through stormy conditions
during the penultimate stage of the 2003 Tour. Unlike most of Lance's
victories in France, The 2003 Tour came down to the last day as
Jan Ulrich trailed Armstrong by little more than a minute. But,
of course, Armstrong did indeed hold off Ulirch - and the adverse
rainy conditions - to win his fifth Tour title. A Stormy
Victory for Lance, but a victory nonetheless. This unsigned
photograph from that day in 2003 is Sports Gallery Quality
Framed in thick black wood, UV-protective glass and classic
blue and yellow double matting (suede matting for the 16x20).
A beautiful piece of Sports Art that any cycling fan would cherish. |

Another
terrific photograph of Lance, this close up shows Armstrong hitting
the mountains in the Liege-Bastogne-Liege, the longest and hilliest
of the Spring Classics. Lance leads a long attack from the Corte

is what Lance does better than anyone in cycling and this beautiful
photograph not only captures that dominance, but also Lance's
fierce determination and drive. His face says it all. This
unsigned photograph is Sports Gallery Quality

In
1996, Lance Armstrong beat all odds by returning to racing after
successfully beating cancer. And boy did he ever return! After winning

race in the World. He won the race again in 2000, '01, and '02 to
become the first American to win four Tours. Then he went out and

Lance
Armstrong
Autographed Commemorative Sports Illustrated
(6/28/05) |
| $949 |
|
In
June of 2005, Sports Illustrated honored Lance Armstrong with
a special Commemorative Edition. It was a wonderful 80-page tribute
to Armstrong. All Lance with no ads even. SI compiled articles
from their magazine over the past six years of Tours de France
coverage, creating an informative biographic piece on this legendary
athlete. The cover was the best part for any cycling fan. It showed
Lance in his new Discovery jersey, arms resting on his bicycle
as he grins at the camera. He is the picture of confidence heading
into the 2005 Tour. And of course that confidence was justified
as Lance went on to win his 7th straight Tour de France later
that summer. Lance boldly signed this special magazine right above
his name. Quality framed in thick black wood, UV-protective glass
(very important for signature protection!) and beautiful blue
& gray suede matting, this is a timeless piece of Sports Art
honoring an athlete for the ages.

In
2004, Lance Armstrong rode into history recording his sixth straight

The Incomparable Lance Armstrong
So
reads the cover of this Sports Illustrated. Before Lance raced
to his remarkable sixth straight Tour De France victory in 2004,
he graced the cover of Sports Illustrated several times. This
classic cover is from August 2001 when the World was starting
to realize just how special Lance Armstrong is on a bicycle. He
ONLY had three of his seven
consecutive Tour victories under his belt at that time but already
words like "incomparable" were being used to describe
this cycling "Superman." Today a cycling legend, this
hand-signed SI shows a young Lance basking in the World spotlight
for the first time in his career. A Sports
Gallery Exclusive framing, the entire August 6th,
2001 Sports Illustrated magazine is encapsulated for protection

Tour
de Force
The Amazing Lance Armstrong
So
reads the cover of this Sports Illustrated from July 2000. "Amazing"
hardly seems to do Lance, and his accomplishments, justice. Hardly
given a chance to live, let alone race competitively again, after
his cancer diagnosis in 1996, Lance reentered the cycling world
in a big way. In 1999 Lance was the surprise winner of the
grueling Tour de France, the most prestigious cycling race in
the World. He won the race again in 2000, 2001, and 2002 to become
the first American to win four Tours. He then won again in 2003
and 2004 becoming the Tour's first six-time winner in its 101-year
history. And in 2005 all he did was win again in his final Tour
- a fitting "swan song" for this great athlete, perhaps
the greatest of all time. This Sports Illustrated shows a
younger Lance leading the pack at that year's Tour. Clearly a
point in time when the cycling world was beginning to get a sense
of how special Lance Armstrong was. Lance hand-signed this classic
SI across his famous yellow jersey. A Sports
Gallery Exclusive framing, the entire July 24th,
2000 Sports Illustrated magazine is encapsulated for protection
and presentation. Framed in thick black wood, UV-protective glass
(very important for signature protection!), and blue suede matting

jersey really. But oh what a jersey! The new Discovery Channel team
jersey is spectacular and has quickly become a bestseller in the
cycling world. More importantly, it was the same jersey Lance wore
when he raced in...and won...his final Tour de France. When he wasn't
wearing the Yellow
Jersey, of course... This incredible Discovery jersey
is hand-signed by Lance across the bottom and presented in a Sport

When
he was 13, Texas-born Lance Armstrong won the Kids Iron Triathlon,
an event combining swimming, biking, and running. It was definitely
a sign of things to come. In 1993 he won ten titles and was called
the Golden Boy of American Cycling. By 1996 Armstrong
was the top-ranked cyclist in the world and his future seemed without
limits. However later that same year, Lance was diagnosed with cancer
and forced to undergo three operations and chemotherapy. The treatment
was ultimately successful, and Armstrong became a powerful advocate
for cancer research. He founded the Lance Armstrong Foundation to
promote cancer research and awareness. In 1996, he returned to racing,
winning the Tour de Luxembourg, among other races. And, of course,
the rest is history... A national and world champion cyclist, role
model, cancer survivor, and active participant in charity and humanitarian
events, this seven-time Tour de France winner(!), is one of the
most celebrated and charismatic cyclists of all time. His inspirational
story and renowned success in the sport of cycling has made him
a household name around the world. This awesome US Postal Service
Team jersey, Lance's sponsor and team jersey for his first six Tour

There
are a number of official and unofficial competitions that are contested
in the Tour. These include the General
Classification, the Points Competition,
the King of the Mountains competition,
among others. But the main competition has always been the the General
Classification, or GC. The winner
of the General Classification is the rider with the lowest cumulative
time over the entire race. Since 1919, the leader of the GC at the
end of the previous stage wears a yellow jersey on the following
days stage. Early in the race, the combination of bonuses
and same time finishes means that aggressive riders
who make long breakaways and strong sprinters fight it out for the
yellow jersey early on and the gap between first place on
the GC and 100th place is measured in a handful of seconds. Once
the race hits the mountains, gaps of many minutes open up in the
GC. And for the last seven Tour De France races, the man opening
up that gap and wearing the the yellow jersey has been cycling legend
Lance Armstrong. This Tour De France yellow jersey was hand-signed
by Lance and handsomely framed with a photo inset of the August
1, 2005 Sports Illustrated cover that featured Lance, in yellow
jersey, riding for his record 7th consecutive Tour De France victory.
