Seattle Seahawks RB Shaun Alexander is
perhaps the most dominating offensive player in the NFL today.
The Florence, Kentucky native attended the University of Alabama
were he recorded the Alabama single-game rushing record as a
freshman (291 yards against LSU) and holds the school career
rushing record with 3,565 yards in four seasons. Drafted by
the Seahawks with the 19th pick of the 2000 NFL Draft, Alexander
really started to turn heads the following year. In a game played
on October 11, 2001 against the Oakland Raiders, he rushed for
a franchise record 266 yards on 35 carries. That year he also
led the NFL in rushing touchdowns with 14. In 2003, Alexander
rushed his way to 1,435 yards and scored 16 touchdowns. Seattle
also made its first playoff appearance since 2000. Alexander's
success in the 2003 season earned him his first trip to Honolulu
for the annual Pro Bowl. But 2005 was Alexander's breakout season
as one of the NFL's elite players. How's this for a season:
Rushed
for 1,880 yards-more than the total for 20 NFL teams.
Scored
28 touchdowns, an NFL single-season record.
Scored
168 points, second most in league history behind Paul Hornung's
176 in 1960.
Became the first player to score at least 15 TDs in five consecutive
seasons.
Won
the NFL MVP.
Oh...and led Seattle to their first Super Bowl appearance in
team history. An amazing season. Because of all his success
he has been nicknamed "The Franchise"
by his fellow players. This terrific hand-signed 16x20 action

Did
you know?
Shaun became the first Seahawk player to appear on
the cover of Sports Illustrated, with the headline
"Do you know his name?". In a fitting piece
of irony, the article failed to spell his name correctly
(Shawn instead of Shaun).

Jerome
Bettis new!
$189
Pittsburgh
RB Jerome Abram "The Bus" Bettis was born on February
16, 1972 in Detroit, Michigan. Considered on of the best...if
not THE best..."Big Back" of his era, Bettis played
his collegiate ball at Notre Dame and was the Offensive Rookie
of the Year for the Los Angeles Rams who drafted him in the first
round of 1993 NFL draft. Traded to the Steelers in 1996, Bettis
career took off in Steel Town. Fifth on the all-time NFL rushing
list, Bettis was an integral part of the Steeler offense for almost
a decade. A dependable 1,000 yard rusher, Bettis was named to
the Pro Bowl in 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2001 and 2004. In
2002, Bettis was the recipient of the Walter Payton Man of the
Year Award. But the 2005 season was truly the "Year
of the Bus." After the Steelers defeat in the 2004
AFC Championship Game, Bettis hinted that he was considering retirement.
Word is that QB Ben Roethlisberger promised Bettis that if he
came back for one last season, he would get him to the Super Bowl.
Jerome just couldn't pass up the chance to play in Super Bowl
XL in his hometown of Detroit and agreed to come back for one
last season. Good choice. Of course, the Steelers went on to not
only play in Super Bowl XL but win it against the Seattle Seahawks.
After the game Bettis announced to the crowd "I'm
a champion now, and I think the Bus's last stop is here in Detroit."

Although
he was an All-American end at Florida State in 1964, many professional
scouts doubted that Fred would make it in the NFL because he lacked
speed. But, Biletnikoff parlayed hard work, precise pass routes,
and great hands into a Hall of Fame career with the Oakland Raiders.
Coach John Madden called him "one of the most dedicated athletes
I have ever seen." In Super Bowl XI, Biletnikoff was named
MVP in Oakland's 32-14 win over the Minnesota Vikings. Fred retired
after the 1978 season. He had 589 career receptions for 8,974
yards and 76 touchdowns. Fred's trademark was large gobs of a
gooey substance known as "stickum" which he smeared
on his socks so he could apply some to his fingers before each
play.

There can be no doubt that Tom Brady is one of the best QB's in
the game today...if not THE
best. He certainly is the most successful. In 2001 he led the
Patriots to their surprising Super Bowl XXXVI win over the heavily-favored
Los Angeles Rams. He was named the Most Valuable Player of that
game as well as being voted to the 2001 Pro Bowl. Then he did
it all over again in 2003/2004 when he led the Pats over the Carolina
Panthers in Super Bowl XXXVIII, again winning the MVP Award for
the game. And...yawn...he did the same in '05 leading the Pats
to victory over the Eagles in Super Bowl XXXVIV. Three Super Bowl
Victories and Two Super Bowl MVP's in four years. And you got
to like Tom and the Pat's chances in 2007. Move over Joe Montana!
