Ben Hogan at 1950 US Open - Click to Enlarge

Ben Hogan
1950 US Open 16x20 (Unsigned)
$229 Web Special! $199

Texas native Ben Hogan began his professional golfing career in 1931 and was by most accounts the greatest golfer of his time and one of the greatest of all-time. In 1948 alone, Ben Hogan won an astounding 10 tournaments. Tragically, the following winter a head-on collision with a bus nearly killed him. With a double fracture of the pelvis, a fractured collar bone, left ankle fracture, chipped rib, and near fatal blood clots, he would suffer lifelong circulation problems and other physical limitations. His doctors said he might never walk again, let alone play golf competitively. However, he not only played again, he won again...and again...and again. In one of the most famous comebacks in the annals of sports, Hogan defeated Lloyd Mangrum and George Fazio in an 18 hole playoff at Merion C.C. to win the 1950 U.S. Open. Hogan went on to record 12 more PGA wins, including 6 Majors. He even received a ticker-tape parade in New York City after winning the 1953 Open Championship. And this astounding comeback all started with this historic shot. A still-weakened Hogan faced an approach shot of more than 200 yards on the 18th Hole. Ben pulled out his 1-iron (1-iron!) and stuck his shot within 40 feet of the hole. His eventual par on the hole forced the play-off which he won. And a golf legend was born... This handsome 26"w x 22"h (framed) unsigned photograph of that legendary shot would make a fine addition to any golfer's home or office. And for a limited time it is a Web Special!

Did you know? It is a well known fact the Ben Hogan, one of the greatest ball strikers of all time, never had a competitive ace (hole-in-one). Sharon Ray, his longtime secretary, claims Hogan never made one in leisure play either. Author Jim Dodson says that in the early days, pins were made of hickory so when Hogan would hit the flagstick, the ball would bounce off the green. He said Hogan stopped aiming at the cup because of that.

Phil Mickelson
8x10 "Lefty" (Signed)
$229 Sold < Find me one! >

2004 was quite a year for Phil Mickelson. "Lefty" won in his first Tour appearance of the season for the fifth time in his career, capturing the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. It was a sign of things to come. At the age of 33 years, 9 months and 26 days, Mickelson finally captured his first Major Championship in his 47th attempt (43rd as a professional), winning the Masters Tournament. No longer was Phil the "Best Golfer To Have Never Won A Major." Phil went on to card three top-three Major finishes (First at Maters, 2nd in the US Open, and 3rd at the British Open) and had top ten finishes in all four Majors for the first time in his career (only Phil and Ernie Els accomplished this feet in 2004). And in 2005 and 2006, Phil added two more feathers to his cap - the 2005 PGA Championship and the 2006 Masters. A great collectible from a great golfer, this hand-signed photograph of Phil showcases his classic left-handed swing. Framed in quality thick black wood and UV-protective glass, this is a great gift for any golf fan.

Phil Mickelson Autographed 2004 Masters Sports Illustrated - Click to Enlarge

Phil Mickelson
2004 Masters Sports Illustrated (Signed)
$489

Masterstroke
Mickelson Wins His First Major

So says the cover of this Sports Illustrated from April, 2004. Phil Mickelson's gallant charge in the final nine of the 2004 Masters left goose bumps, especially when Phil made the 18-footer on the final hole for birdie and a one-stroke win over Ernie Els. The victory erased Mickelson's name off the top of the list of "Best Player Not To Win a Major" and thrust him into the upper echelon of great golf personalities (especially after his 2nd Major win at the 2005 PGA Championship and third at the 2006 Masters). Of course Tiger is still the most popular golfer in the world, but if he isn't careful he could very easily be replaced by Phil, a modern day Arnold Palmer in terms of his connection to the fans. Should it happen, there isn't a better person to take over Tiger's reins than Mickelson. This authentic Sports Illustrated is hand-signed by Phil and Sports Gallery Quality Framed in thick black wood, UV-protective glass (very important for signature protection!), and classic green suede double matting. The magazine itself is also encapsulated within the frame for additional protection. One of the great moments in golf history, remember the win that started it all for Phil with this timeless collectible. <See also our unsigned 16x20 from the 2004 Masters>.

Phil Mickelson & Tiger Woods 2006 Masters Champion Photograph - Click to Enlarge

Phil Mickelson & Tiger Woods
2006 Masters Champion 16x20 (Unsigned)
$229 Web Special! $199

Once known as the lovable loser who went a dozen years before he figured out how to win golf’s biggest tournaments, Phil Mickelson captured his second straight Major at the 2006 Masters. He closed with a 3-under 69 for a two-shot victory and his second Green Jacket in three years. Instead of the heart-stopping finish of the 2004 Masters, in 2006 Phil methodically built a lead that forced Fred Couples, Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh to try to catch him. No such luck. This was the third straight year Mickelson has won a Major - Woods is the only other player to have done that in the last 20 years. Only five others have won Majors in three straight seasons since the Masters began in 1934. The victory moved Mickelson up to No. 2 in the world behind only Woods and identified him as a major force in the golf world. At Butler Cabin shortly after his final putt on the 18th, Tiger Woods, the 2005 Masters Champion, slipped the green jacket on Mickelson's shoulders, a role reversal from the previous year when Mickelson presented Tiger with the prize jacket. "I really don't want to trade next year," Mickelson said. "I certainly enjoyed the jacket put on me." This timeless 16x20 photograph shows arguably the two best golfers in the game today sharing one of golf's great traditions - the presenting of the Masters Green Jacket. Handsomely framed and matted with commemorative plaque, this beauty would look great in any golfer's office or den.

What a fantastic finish to one of the most exciting championships in golf history! Did you know? Phil, a righthander, became a lefthanded golfer when he tried to mirror his father's swing. When his Dad hit balls into a net in the Mickelson yard, 18-month old Phil Jr. would wander too close. Dad would tell Phil to stand opposite him so he could keep an eye on the tyke while he hit balls. Pretty soon, Phil started to mirror what his father, a righthander was doing and thus "Lefty" was born.

In '04, Vijay put together one of the finest seasons in golf history, posting nine wins (including the PGA Championship) and earning a PGA TOUR-record $10,905,166 while passing Tiger Woods to become No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking (Tiger regained his #1 ranking in 2005). Singh Became just the sixth player in TOUR history to accumulate nine wins in a season and first since Tiger Woods in 2000. The others: Paul Runyan, Byron Nelson, Ben Hogan and Sam Snead. Pretty impressive company for this Lautoka, Fiji native. One of the most consistent golfers on the TOUR, Vijay led the TOUR in top-10s for the second straight season with 18 in 29 events. His 36 top-10s over a two-year period (2003-2004) were the most since Tom Kite recorded 36 during the 1981 (21) and 1982 (15) seasons. And to top it all off, he was selected as the PGA Player of the Year, dethroning his rival Tiger Woods. 2004 was indeed the "Year of Vijay" in the golf world. Vijay does not do many signings, but Sports Gallery was fortunate enough to acquire this hand-signed photograph of Vijay's classic swing. Quality framed in thick black wood, UV-protective glass and double-matting, this is a terrific golf collectible of a terrific golfer - the best in the World in 2004!

Sam Snead new!
"Slammin' Sam" 16x20 (signed)
$529
"Slammin' Sam" Snead could hit the ball a country mile with a swing that was the sweetest in golf. "It was a gift, something you can't teach," two-time U.S. Open champion Curtis Strange said. "His hands looked like they were born to have a golf club in them." Snead, now deceased, was one of golf's greatest players with seven major championship and a record 81 victories on the PGA Tour. "He brought so much to the game with his great swing and the most fluid motion ever to grace a golf course," Jack Nicklaus said. Sam was the only player to win sanctioned tournaments in six decades. He was also the oldest player to win on the PGA Tour, at age 52 in the 1965 Greater Greensboro Open, and remained a threat well into his 60s. He tied for third in the 1974 PGA Championship at age 62. Five years later, Snead became the youngest player to shoot his age -- 67 -- in the Quad Cities Open. If that wasn't enough, he shot a 66 two days later. Snead was famous for his straw hat, cocky grin and homespun humor, all on display in the vintage 16x20 B&W photograph. Hand-signed by Sam before his death, this classic is Sports Gallery Quality Framed in thick black wood, UV-protective glass and classic doulbe matting. A great piece of golf history, this wonderful piece of Sports Art would make a great gift for any golf fan.

Michelle Wie
8x10 (Signed)
$199 Sold < Find me one! >
A child prodigy and golfing sensation, Michelle Wie breaks records and barriers. Not only does she compete with women on the LPGA tour, she's gone head-to-head with men on the PGA tour and may start to make a habit of it. It's hard not to like a golfing phenom whose early career and dedication to the game are eerily similar to golf's current deity's, Tiger Woods', except for one small detail... she's a girl. Wie began golfing at the age of four. When Michelle was 10 years old, she really turned it on, shooting a 64 at one of her favorite courses and qualifying for the USGA's Women's Amateur Public Links Championship. In 2002, at the age of 12 Michelle became the youngest woman to qualify for an LPGA event. In 2004, Wie qualified for the Men's Sony Open, becoming the youngest player to ever play on the PGA tour. One year later, Wie continues to make headlines, joining the men at the Sony Open once again and earning her highest-ever LPGA finish, a tie for second, at the SBS Open. And all before her 16th birthday! A golfing star on the rise Michelle definitely has game and will likely generate Tiger-like attention and success in the next few years. Get this quality framed, hand-signed photograph of Michelle in action before it goes up in value.

Tiger Woods new!
2008 US Open "The Putt" Display
8x10, 11x14 & 12x18 Photographs

Nothing commemorates Tiger Woods, his greatness, and his sheer determination to win better than this gorgeous Sports Gallery Exclusive display. The 2008 United States Open Golf Championship was the 108th U.S. Open, played from June 12 to June 16, 2008 at Torrey Pines in San Diego, California. And it was arguably the best Open in history. In the end, Tiger Woods cradled the silver U.S. Open trophy in his right hand and limped toward the edge of the Pacific bluffs, each step as much a burden as the 91 holes he played at Torrey Pines for his 14th, and most memorable, Major Championship. Needing a birdie on the 18th hole to force an 18-hole play-off with Roco Mediate, a visibly-pained Tiger Woods rose to the occasion and sunk a dramatic 12-foot putt. The next day Woods again needed to birdie on 18 to force a sudden death play-off and again delivered leading to his remarkable victory. And two days later Tiger announced that he would be undergoing season-ending arthroscopic knee surgery. Just an amazing performance ... perhaps his most amazing ... by an amazing athlete. Tiger himself called the victory "probably the best ever." This beautiful piece of Sports Art not only commerates this unforgetable athlete and moment but also captures the spirit of determination and winning that Tiger has come to represent. Sports Gallery Quality Framed in thick black wood, black double matting, and UV-protective glass, this is one amazing collectible that you will only find at Sports Gallery. Available in three sizes, get yours today!
