Saturday, Nov. 5, Sports Gallery conducted another
Raider Nation signing, this time with stand-out
Oakland wide-receiver Jacoby Ford. This was our
first signing in our new San
Ramon
location. |

| Jacoby
Ford is the classic "need
for speed" Raider. Also an accomplished track
and field athlete, Ford played college football
as a wide receiver and return specialist at Clemson
University. In track, he competed in the sprint
events. In 2007, Ford was named the Atlantic Coast
Conference (ACC) Indoor Freshman of the Year in
track. In the 60-meter dash, he set an ACC record,
and the national best for the year, at 6.52 seconds.
Ford was also named the Southeast Region Indoor
Track Athlete of the Year, and he was awarded
National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)
All-American, All-East Region, and All-ACC honors.
Jacoby was the real deal in track and field. But
he's not too shabby on the gridiron either. In
2008, he recorded 55 receptions for 710 yards
and four touchdowns, 18 rushing attempts for 96
yards, and 17 kick returns for 313 yards. At the
NFL Combine, Ford recorded a 4.28 40-yard dash,
the fastest of the 2010 class. The Raiders drafted
Jacboy in the 4th Round with the 108th pick overall.
In his first season, Jacoby had 6 receptions for
148 yards and also returned a kickoff 94 yards
for a touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs
on 11/7/10, his career-bests. Ford holds the Raiders
record for the most kickoff returns for a touchdown
in a season at 3 and has already returned one
in 2011 going 101 yards against the Cleveland
Browns on October 16. Jacoby is very good and
looks to be a key ingredient in the Raiders plans
for success in 2011 and beyond. Raaaaaaaiders!!!! |

with the many citizens of the Raider Nation that
enjoyed the signing, Ford was a hit...a great
guy who obviously loves wearing the Silver &
Black! |
