Olympic Star Kerri Walsh Signing

August 12th, Sports Gallery conducted another of its unique "Mobile Signings,"
conducting an autograph event with the great Kerri Walsh at First & Main Sports
Lounge in downtown Los Altos, CA. |

Walsh grew up in Scotts Valley, CA and played her high school volleyball at Archbishop
Mitty in San Jose before attending Stanford University. Ranked as the No. 1 high
school recruit in the nation, Kerri enjoyed one of the most successful collegiate
careers of any player in volleyball history winning national titles in both 1996
and 1997, while being selected a four-year first-team All-American, Final Four
MVP, and co-National Player of the Year in 1999. She graduated from Stanford in
2000 with a B.A. in American Studies. Kerri was one of the leading talents on
the United States Olympic Team that competed in Sydney, Australia in 2000, helping
the U.S. Team to a strong 4th place finish. After Stanford and the Olympics, Kerri
burst onto the beach volleyball circuit. Teaming up with the dynamic Misty May,
the two rocketed to the #1 ranking in the World in competition on the FIVB (World)
Tour. 2003 marked Kerri's first season on the U.S. beach tour, as she and Misty
joined forces with the hot AVP Tour. Kerri and Misty went an incredible 38-0 during
their first year on the AVP Tour, winning every domestic tournament in which they
competed. And oh yeah...the two are also two-time Olympic Gold Medalists winning
Gold in both Athens (2004) and Bejing (2008). | | | |

for over an hour, it is obvious Kerri is VERY popular with her fans of all ages.
And why not? She's an amazing athlete...probably one of the most recognized female
athletes in the World thanks to her Olympic success. And, perhaps more importantly,
she is REALLY nice, chatting it up with the many folks in attendance and posing
for pictures with everyone. | | |
