Muhammad
Ali vs. The Beatles |
| $749 |
This
photograph is one of the most famous images in the storied career
of Muhammad Ali. It was 1964 and two worlds collided when The Beatles
paid a visit to Ali's (then Cassius Clay) camp in Miami during his
training for the first Ali-Liston fight. As the media looked on,
Ali performed like the consummate entertainer he was, and, in the
process, gained millions of new fans. It may not have been his greatest
knockout, but it was certainly his only quadrouple-knockout! This
handsomely framed and matted, vintage 8x10 photograph shows Ali
sparing with John, Paul, George and Ringo and includes a descriptive
plaque giving the "circa 1964" date. Hand-signed by Ali,
this is a classic collectible that appeals to both sports and music
enthusiasts alike. A wonderful conversation piece!

Rodney
Dangerfield
Autographed Caddyshack Poster |
| $1,095 |
| Greenskeeper
Carl Spackler is about to start WWIII - against a gopher. Pompous
Judge Smails plays golf to win but his nubile niece Lacey Underall
wants to score her own way. Playboy Ty Webb shoots perfect golf
by becoming the ball. And country club loudmouth Al Czervik just
doubled a $20,000 bet on a 10-foot putt. Such is Caddyshack, the
1980 comedy that has become a low-brow classic. Caddyshack is about
the scheme of a vulgar land developer (Rodney Dangerfield) who wants
to build condominiums on the site of a ritzy country club. But who
really cares about the plot. What made the movie were the antics
of Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, Bill Murray and Ted Knight.
With Harold Ramis directing, the comic skills of these four blend
in a riotous hole-in-one for comedy fans. And the show-stealer is
obviously Rodney Dangerfield, who also happened to be the coolest
old dude ever. His outrageous lines such as "Did
somebody step on a duck?" or
"Oh, this is the worst-looking
hat I ever saw.
You buy a hat like this,
I bet you get a free bowl of soup, huh?...
Oh, it looks good on you, though."
have
all stood the test of time. And Caddyshack has become a
cult classic that fans watch several times a year, reciting every
line of dialogue like the followers of a bizarre comedic ritual.
This official movie poster was hand-signed by the late, great
Rodney Dangerfield before his death in 2004. Quality framed in
thick black wood, UV-protective glass (very important for signature
protection!) and classic double-matting, this is a special collectible
that is obviously limited in number. Get this classic before someone
else does!

Sam
Snead and Jackie Gleason |
| $189
|
Slammin' Sam Snead could hit the ball a country mile with a swing
that was the sweetest in golf. "It was a gift, something you
can't teach," two-time U.S. Open champion Curtis Strange said.
"His hands looked like they were born to have a golf club in
them." Snead, now deceased, was one of golf's greatest players
with seven major championship and a record 81 victories on the PGA
Tour. He brought so much to the game with his great swing and the
most fluid motion ever to grace a golf course," Jack Nicklaus
said. Sam was the only player to win sanctioned tournaments in six
decades. He was also the oldest player to win on the PGA Tour, at
age 52 in the 1965 Greater Greensboro Open, and remained a threat
well into his 60s. He tied for third in the 1974 PGA Championship
at age 62. Five years later, Snead became the youngest player to
shoot his age -- 67 -- in the Quad Cities Open. If that wasn't enough,
he shot a 66 two days later. Snead was famous for his straw hat,
cocky grin and homespun humor. This vintage photograph shows Sam
wearing that very hat and enjoying a round with his good buddy Jackie
Gleason of Honeymooners fame. A great piece of golf history, this
unsigned 16x20 photograph is handsomely framed and matted and would
make a wonderful gift for any fan of golf's glory years.
