|
| It
began with Dodger President Walter O'Malley's vision nearly five
decades ago and remains one of the crown jewels in professional
sports and a landmark to West Coast expansion in Major League Baseball.
Since 1962, the beauty of Dodger Stadium has awed spectators with
a breathtaking view of downtown Los Angeles to the south; green,
tree-lined Elysian hills to the north and east; and the San Gabriel
Mountains beyond. More than 110 million fans have watched Dodger
games at Dodger Stadium over 40 years, an average of more than 2.7
million per season. It has also played host to eight World Series
(the Dodgers winning four - '63, '65, '81 & '88). This very
cool panoramic shows the Dodgers playing their hated NoCal rivals,
the San Francisco Giants, with none other than Barry
Bonds at the plate. A great gift for any Dodgers fan. |

Brooklyn
Dodgers Ebbets Field new!
B&W
Aerial 16x20 |
| $199 |
Not
a panoramic...and not the LOS ANGELES
Dodgers. Instead a vintage (1950's sometime) 16x20 B&W photograph
of the home of the Brooklyn Dodgers...Ebbets Field. Cramped
but colorful Ebbets Field, in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn,
was home to the Brooklyn Dodgers in both their lean times and glory
years. Built by Dodger owner Charlie Ebbets, Ebbets was an opulent
palace of baseball when it opened on April 9, 1913. And Ebbets had
a great location. Flatbush Avenue was the main drag through Brooklyn
which made the Field a focal point for the community. By the mid-50's
however, Ebbets Field had grown too old to satisfy Dodger owner
Walter O'Malley, and in 1958 Brooklyn's beloved Dodgers moved to
Los Angeles. Sadly, the park was demolished in 1960. Sports
Gallery Quality
Framed in thick black wood and classic double matting,
this photograph is a timeless piece of Sports
Art that would look great in any office or den. A great gift
for any longtime Dodgers...or just plain baseball...fan.

[why

|
| |
| In
the Fall of 2000, the New York Yankees and New York Mets played
the first "Subway Series" since 1956. For Yankees fans,
the series was heaven as their beloved Bronx Bombers beat the Mets
in 5 to win their 26th World Championship. This very cool panoramic
was taken from behind homeplate during Game 2 at Yankees Stadium
with Roger "The Rocket" Clemens on the hill for the home
team. A great remembrance of this historic Series and the great
Yankees baseball tradition. A gift any longtime fan of the Bronx
Bombers would love! |
| |
|
| Did
you know?
The New York football Giants also called Yankee Stadium
home from 1956 through 1973 and, on December 28, 1958,
played in what is widely recognized as "the greatest
game ever played." On that day at Yankee Stadium,
the Baltimore Colts beat the Giants for the NFL Championship
in professional football's first-ever "sudden-death"
overtime period. |

Oakland
Athletics
McAfee Coliseum |
|
$289

[why
your online transaction is safe]
|
| |
|
| The
originally-named Alameda County Coliseum wooed the Kansas City A's
franchise to Oakland and the first Oakland A's game was played there
on April 17, 1968 vs. the Baltimore Orioles. Today McAfee Coliseum
is a multi-use sports complex home for both the Oakland Athletics
Baseball team and the Oakland Raiders NFL franchise. A coliseum
renovation project began in November 1995 and proceeded through
the 1996 baseball season. Stadium seating capacity is now more than
50,000 and the Coliseum has been home to some of the biggest names
in baseball. Jim "Catfish" Hunter pitched a perfect game
here; Reggie Jackson, Rollie Fingers and the rest of the Swingin'
A's won their many Championships here in the '70s; Rickey
Henderson broke Lou Brock's stolen base record in 1991; and the
Bash Brothers (Mark McGwire and Jose Canseco) bashed here. A vastly
underrated venue to watch a baseball game, this Sports
Gallery Exclusive beautifully captures the essence
of "The Coliseum." |

|
| |
|
| PNC
Park, which opened in spring 2001, is a classic-style ballpark -
an intimate facility that embraces the progressiveness of Pittsburgh
while saluting the spirit of early ballpark originals such as Forbes
Field, Wrigley Field and Fenway Park. This riverfront facility combines
the best features of yesterday's ballparks - rhythmic archways,
steel trusswork and a natural grass playing field - with the latest
in fan and player amenities and comfort. Its prime location along
the shore of the Allegheny River and adjacent to Federal Street
takes advantage of scenic vistas of the downtown skyline and riverfront
(terrifically shown in this panoramic), as well as pedestrian and
riverboat access, creating an exciting and dramatic urban sports
venue. It also provides easy access for pedestrians crossing the
Roberto Clemente bridge from downtown, as well as those arriving
from the riverwalk. Among the unique features of the beautiful facility
is an outfield barbecue run by former Pirate Manny Sanguillen, an
outdoor river terrace and river walk, and Outback
in the Outfield, a steakhouse restaurant with a party deck
that overlooks both the playing field and the city. Just a great
ballpark that does the great city of Pittsburgh proud. Any Steel
town fan would love this pano. |

|
| There
was nothing like it in baseball - the peaceful little stadium would
fill with papers spinning cyclones in the air; swirling dust clouds
would dance across the infield like ghosts before skipping back
into the sky and obscuring the sun. And cold? The game time temperature
would frequently drop into the mid 50s, with a wind chill in the
low 30s. Yes, indeed, there was a certain San Francisco charm to
the park even if it was despised by the rest of the League. And
of course, it was home to some of the greatest players in Giants
history - Mays, McCovey, Marichal, and Bonds just to name a few.
This unique Sports
Gallery Exclusive includes photographs from the first
(April 12, 1960) and last (September 30, 1999) baseball games played
at this memorable stadium along with replica commemorative tickets
from both games. While technically not a panoramic, this 38"w
x 15"h display is similar in dimensions and would make a wonderful
gift for any longtime Giants fan. |

| In
1998 the San Diego Padres upset the Atlanta Braves in the National
League Championship Series to win the NL Pennant for just the second
time in club history. 1998 was the best season in San Diego Padres'
history as the Pads utilized good pitching, a solid defense and
the hitting of Steve Finley, Tony
Gwynn, and Ken Caminiti to post a 98-64 record. This panoramic
was taken during Braves/Padres NLCS at Qualcomm (formerly Jack Murphy
Stadium). An excellent gift for any Pads fan especially since this
is the final year the Padres will be playing at Qualcomm before
moving to their new home, PetCo Park. |
