Tony
Hawk
"Loop of Death" 8x10 Photograph (signed) |
| $249 |
Tony
Hawk has epitomized skateboarding almost from the day his older
brother Steve gave him his first Bahne fiberglass model. Combining
physical prowess and creative craftsmanship, today Hawk sits atop
his sport.
Tony has excelled at every level of competition
by winning or finishing second at nearly every event he's in which
he's competed, including 10 X-Games Gold Medals. He has invented,
fine-tuned and mastered over 80 tricks, the most stunning being
the 900, which he took from concept to reality at the Summer 1999
X Games.
Although Tony doesn't officially compete any longer,
he doesn't seem to have any problem maintaining his spot in the
limelight with video games and skateboarding world tours bearing
his name.
Put simply, Tony is skateboarding's mainstream ambassador.
There is even a Tony Hawk Day in Springfield, OR (April 30).
Perhaps
the most recognizable name in sports to the school yard generation.
This very cool 8x10 photograph shows Tony doing the "Loop
of Death," a Hot Wheels inspired ramp that he incorporated
in his 2003 Boom Boom HuckJam Tour. Hand-signed by Tony and Quality
Framed in thick black wood, UV-protective glass and classic double
matting, this is a great collectible from one of the most recognizable
names in Sports today. A great gift for that special young skateboarder.

Some of his signature contest tricks include the Heelflip Frontside Gay Twist and Switch Frontside 540. He is one of only two skaters to flip his board in to an invert (Heelflip Frontside Invert), and the only one to do a 720 on the vert and land backwards (forward-to-fakie Indy 720, known as a "MacKenzie").
