ABOUT THIS COLLECTIBLE
The Boston Red Sox were founded in 1901 as the Boston Somersets. They later became the Boston Pilgrims before settling on the name Boston Red Sox in 1907. Five years later, in 1912, the Sox moved from the Huntington Avenue Grounds to their current home, venerable Fenway Park. While Boston has won eight World Series Championships, their last before 2004 was way back in 1918. After 85 long seasons, the 2004 Red Sox notched the victory that had eluded them since 1918 by sweeping the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series. And the Sox enjoyed 2004 so much, they decided to do it all over again in 2007, bringing the great fans of Boston their second World Series Championship in the modern era. And how 'bout another in 2013, this time beating the Cardinals and winning the clinching game in Fenway! One of the classic franchises in all of professional sports, this Sports Gallery Exclusive Display is part of our SGA Impact Series, high impact displays for high impact athletes and teams. We start with an official Red Sox Patch, but this display is obviously much more than that. Sports Gallery Quality Framed with wood moulding and Sox double matting, we've deluxe cut "BOSTON STRONG 617" into the matting, celebrating both the passion of both the team and their city (area code). Measuring 16"h x 33 1/2" w, this beauty is a unique...and perfect...gift for any Red Sox fan. A must for the (Wo)ManCave!
