ABOUT THIS COLLECTIBLE
"Looking...throwing in the end zone... Clark caught it!...Dwight Clark! " Such is Vin Scully's Memorable Call of "The Catch," one of the most famous moments in football history. Born in Kinston, North Carolina, Pro Bowl wide receiver Dwight Clark played his college football at Clemson University before being drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the 10th round of the 1979 Draft. Clark embarked on a great career with the Niners, finishing with 506 catches, 6750 yards, 48 touchdowns and 2 Super Bowl Rings. But by far Clark's most memorable touchdown and football moment came in the 1982 NFC Playoffs. On January 10, 1982, against the Dallas Cowboys, the San Francisco 49ers were trailing 27-21 in the final minute of play to advance to the Super Bowl. Clark made a leaping catch of a desperation pass from quarterback Joe Montana in the back of the end zone to give the 49ers a 28-27 victory. That great sports moment has been immortalized by the Niner Faithful as "The Catch" and is a big reason Clark's number 87 was retired by the 49ers. This previously unreleased color 11x14 photograph shows Dwight...and the Candlestick crowd's...celebration moments after his famous grab. This beauty is part of the SG Value Series, our best framed value and the perfect way to add this great 49ers moment (voted the #1 moment at Candlestick) to your wall at a super price. Quality Framed, you simply can't go wrong celebrating "The Catch" if you're a Faithful!
