New York Jets QB Joe Namath is best remembered for his performance in the Jets' stunning 16-7 upset of the heavily favored Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III. However, during his 13-year tenure from 1965 through 1977 he was one of the game's most exciting, proficient and publicized quarterbacks. In 1967, "Broadway Joe" became the first quarterback to pass for more than 4,000 yards in one season. In 1968, he capped off AFL Player of the Year and a unanimous All-Pro selection, with MVP honors in Super Bowl III. Namath's pre-game "guarantee" of victory backed up by his 206-yard passing production was a major factor in assuring the competitive viability of the AFL-NFL Super Bowl series. This Hall of Famer was plagued with knee injuries through much of his career yet still completed 1,886 passes for 27,663 yards and 173 touchdowns in 13 seasons. This great 11x14 photograph of Namath during a muddy classic is part of our SGA UnderFifty Series, our best framed value and the perfect way to add "Broadway Joe" to your wall at a great price. Quality Framed, this beauty is a terrific piece of Sports Art celebrating one of Sport's most popular players and the perfect gift for any football fan! Please note that most photos from this period have the vintage blurred look of bygone days of sports photography. All of which adds to the classic feel of this great piece of Sports Art and make this a stunning piece that is sure to get a big reaction.
