What a boxer Iron Mike was in his prime! The "Baddest Man on the Planet!" Of course, Michael Gerard "Mike" Tyson is the former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world and holds the record as the youngest boxer to win the WBC, WBA & IBF heavyweight titles at 20 years, 4 months, and 22 days old. He won the WBC title in 1986 after defeating Trevor Berbick by a TKO in the 2nd round. He was the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles, and the only heavyweight to successively unify them. In 1996, he won the WBC and WBA titles back after defeating Frank Bruno and Bruce Seldon by knockout, joining Floyd Patterson, Muhammad Ali, Tim Witherspoon, Evander Holyfield, and George Foreman as the only men in boxing history to that point to have regained a heavyweight championship after having lost it. On June 28, 1997, Tyson and Evander Holyfield fought in what became one of Tyson's most famous...or infamous...fights It was a lucrative event, drawing even more attention than their first bout and grossing $100 million, with the highest paid professional boxing purses until 2007. The fight was stopped at the end of the third round, with Tyson disqualified for biting Holyfield on both ears. One bite was severe enough to remove a piece of Holyfield's right ear, which was found on the ring floor after the fight. This Sports Gallery Exclusive Display celebrates this unforgettable fight as only Sports Gallery can. It features an 8x10 of "The Bite" hand-signed by Tyson and SGA Custom Full Plate with the details of the fight and bite. OR YOU CAN CREATE YOUR OWN PLATE! Quality Framed with wood moulding, UV-protective glass and classic double-matting, this is a must-have boxing collectible and Sports Art celebrating a boxing moment no one will forget!
