ABOUT THIS COLLECTIBLE
2018 was a very good year for Mookie. Named Markus Lynn Betts in part to form the initials “MLB,” his parents gave him the nickname “Mookie” after watching NBA guard Mookie Blaylock play ball shortly after his birth. And the name…and MLB stardom aspirations…have definitely stuck. Born in Nashville, TN, Mookie excelled at both baseball and bowling in high school (Mookie was named Tennessee Boys Bowler of the Year in 2010 before being selected by the Red Sox in the 2011 MLB Draft). Betts made his debut on June 29, 2014 for Boston, recording his first major league career hit against Yankees starter Chase Whitley in the fourth inning. And the rest, as they say, is history. Now a perennial All-Star, Gold Glove Award winner, and AL MVP, Mookie has become a devastating force on a stacked Red Sox team that were World Series Champions in 2018. And Sox fans love him! This awesome "Headfirst Slide" 11x14 photograph of Mookie is part of our SGA UnderFifty Series, the most affordable way to get a cool framed Mookie photograph hanging on your wall today! Quality Framed with black wood moulding, glass and classic matting, this beauty makes a great gift for any Red Sox fan!
