ABOUT THIS COLLECTIBLE
Two Celtic Legends in one famous photograph. Of Course, Larry Bird, or "Larry Legend" he is often referred, was a 12-time NBA All-Star who scored over 21,000 points during his 13 years as a Celtic. More importantly to Celtic fans, he brought three World Championship trophies home to Boston during his career. Red Auerbach is the architect and mastermind behind one of the most dominant franchises in professional sports history - the Boston Celtics. The cigar-chomping Auerbach was an aggressive, demanding, and often volatile coach who, from 1959 to 1966, led the Celtics to eight straight NBA championships, a streak unmatched in sports history. In 1980, the Professional Basketball Writers Association of America (PBWAA) named Auerbach the greatest coach in the history of the NBA. After coaching, Auerbach joined the Celtics front office full-time where he and the Celtics continued their dominance. This famous Boston Globe photograph of Red and Larry (and the trophy!) was taken moments after their 1981 Championship, the Celtics' 14th. This classic 11x14 and 8x10 photo of these two Celtics royalty is part of the SGA UnderFifty Series, our best framed value. Quality Framed, this beauty is the perfect way to add this classic basketball moment to your wall at a great price. Please note that photos from this period have the vintage blurred look of bygone days of sports photography. All of which adds to the classic feel of this great piece of Sports Art and make this a stunning piece that is sure to get a big reaction. Without a doubt a timeless piece of Sports Art that any Boston fan would love.
