ABOUT THIS COLLECTIBLE
New York Jets QB Joe Namath is best remembered for his performance in the Jets' stunning 16-7 upset of the heavily favored Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III. However, during his 13-year tenure from 1965 through 1977 he was one of the game's most exciting, proficient and publicized quarterbacks. In 1967, "Broadway Joe" became the first quarterback to pass for more than 4,000 yards in one season. In 1968, he capped off AFL Player of the Year and a unanimous All-Pro selection, with MVP honors in Super Bowl III. Namath's pre-game "guarantee" of victory in that Super Bowl, backed up by his stellar performance, was a major factor in assuring the competitive viability of the AFL-NFL Super Bowl series. This Hall of Famer was plagued with knee injuries through much of his career yet still completed 1,886 passes for 27,663 yards and 173 touchdowns in 13 seasons. This classic b&w 11x14 photograph of Namath at the line in Super Bowl III is part of our SGA UnderFifty Series, our best framed value and the perfect way to add a football classic to your wall at a great price. Quality Framed, this beauty is a terrific piece of Sports Art celebrating one of Sport's most popular players and the perfect gift for any football fan!
