ABOUT THIS COLLECTIBLE
San Francisco Giants 1B Willie McCovey used a sweeping swing to belt 521 homers and collect more than 2,200 hits. "Stretch" led the National League in homers three times and in RBI's twice, also pacing the circuit in slugging percentage for three consecutive years (1968-'70). McCovey earned National League MVP honors in 1969, 10 years after earning National League Rookie of the Year in 1959. Said Sparky Anderson of the six-time All Star: "If you pitch to him he'll ruin the baseball. He'd hit 80 home runs. There's no comparison between McCovey and anybody else in the League." One of five San Francisco Giants Hall of Famers, Willie was elected to the Pro Baseball Hall of Fame in 1986 and his #44 has been retired by the Giants. And, of course, McCovey Cove is the home of the "Splash Landing" at AT&T Park - monster home runs (like Willie hit) that clear the stands and land in San Francisco Bay. EVERYBODY loved Willie, who sadly passed in 2018. Sports Gallery is offering this classic "Bye Bye Baby" 16x20 or 11x14 photograph of Big Mac as part of our unsigned SGA Signature Series that includes an SGA Exclusive laser-engraved facsimile signature plate. In this case, the plate highlights Willie's elegant autograph along with "Forever Giant" and his years. Sports Gallery Quality Framed with black wood moulding, glass and classic matting w/ v-groove, this beauty is a great piece of Baseball Sports Art! A San Francisco Classic!
